Arunachal Pradesh is one of the 29 states and is the largest among the North-east Indian states commonly known as the Seven Sister States.   Arunachal Pradesh borders the states of Assam and Nagaland to the south, international borders with Bhutan in the west, Burma in the east and China in the north. Itanagar is the capital of the state. It’s  natural beauty, diverse-culture  and sanctity  attracts the travelers .

Arunachal Pradesh, which translates to “land of the dawn-lit mountains”, is also known as the Orchid State of India or the Paradise of the Botanists. Geographically, As in other parts of Northeast India, the people native to the state trace their origins from the Tibeto-Burman people.

DAY 02: GUWAHATI – SHILLONG (130 KMS / 3 ½ hrs drive):

Morning after breakfast transfer to Shillong. En route visit Umium Lake. Check in Hotel. Overnight in Shillong.
Local Sightseeing.
Shillong – The ‘Gleneagle of the East’ lies in the centre of a plateau surrounded by Khasi hills. The gorgeous city offers amazing tourist spots. The city’s own Ward’s Lake is popular for short garden walks & boating. The Botanical Garden offers plethora of indigenous and exotic plants & rare collection of orchids. Butterfly Museum is a storehouse of finest and rarest species of butterflies and moths. Lady Hydari Park is a Japanese style landscaped park endowed with streaches of roses & exquisite flowers. The Mini zoo adjacent to the park has about 73 birds, 140 reptiles & mammals. One of the largest Golf courses in Asia is an 18 hole Golf Course is charted amidst a surging valley full of thick pine groves & rhododendron trees. Spend the evening in the splendid arena ! The State Museum is a display of the lifestyle and heritage of the people of Meghalaya. Shillong and its surrounding is dotted with splendid waterfalls cascading down deep valleys forming misty sparks as they break the silence of the surroundings. Elephant Falls is a mountain stream gorging down two successive falls set in dells of fern covered rocks.
DAY 03: SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJEE – SHILLONG (60 KMs / 2 hrs-One way):

After breakfast excursion to Cherrapunjee. Later return back to Shillong. Evening visit Local markets. Overnight in Shillong.
DAY 04: SHILLONG- – TEZPUR:

Morning after breakfast drive to Tezpur
Dinner & Halt.
DAY 6: BOMDILA – TAWANG:

After breakfast drive to Tawang, Enroute Sightseeing

Tawang – The beautiful land of the Monpa tribes with the “GALDEN NAMGYEL LHATSE” Monestary – one of the largest Lamaseries of Mahayana sect in Asia. The birth place of the 6th Dalai Lama, the Monastery is 400 year old and is adorned with the 18 feet high statue of Lord Buddha. ‘The Land of Dawn-lit Mountains’ at 3500 mts gives you unparallel purity of nature. Visit the monastery and the War Memorial. Evening free for shopping. Overnight in Tawang.
DAY 8: TAWANG –DIRANG:

Morning after breakfast move to Dirang.
Dinner & halt.
DAY 9: DIRANG – BHALUKPUNG:

Morning drive back to Bhalukpung. Evening free at leisure. Overnight in Bhalukpung.
DAY 10: BHALUKPUNG – GUWAHATI:

After breakfast drive to Guwahati. Check in Hotel. Overnight in Guwahati.
DAY 11: GUWAHATI AIRPORT DEPARTURE:

Morning visit Kamakhya temple. In time transfer to Guwahati airport for onward journey.

 
 
 

“Arunachal 8 Night”

DAY 1, KOLKATA-GUWAHATI:  
Arrive Guwahati and transfer to your hotel.
Afternoon/Evening visit to the Kamakhya Temple, on Nilachal hill, 08 kms west of Guwahati city, is one of the most venerated shaktipeeths in India. The temple is dedicated to goddess Kamakhya an incarnation of Sati. It is on Nilachal hill, says the Shiva Purana, that the yoni or creative organ of Sati fell when Vishnu, in a bid to save the world from the Shiva’s tandava nrittya or dance of destruction, cut her dead body into 51 pieces with his suddarshan chakra. The garbhagriha deep inside the temple, marks the sacred spot and is kept covered with red silken cloth. O/n hotel.

DAY 2, GUWAHATI- BALIPARA NEAR TEZPUR– (196 KMS/ 04 -05 HRS): 

After breakfast drive straight to Balipara. Upon arrival at Balipara check in at Wild Mahseer Lodge. Rest of the day free for bunglow activities. Overnight at the Bunglow.


DAY 3: BALIPARA – KAZIRANGA (130 KMS / 03-4 HRS): 

After breakfast drive straight to Kaziranga National Park – A World Heritage Site. Afternoon explore the central area of the park on Jeep Safari. Overnight in Kaziranga.
IMP: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK IS CLOSED FROM 01 MAY TILL 31 OCT EVERY YEAR.

DAY 4, KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK: 

Early morning enjoy Elephant safari to visit central range of the park. Return back to your hotel for breakfast. Afternoon after lunch enjoys your last Jeep safari into the park. O/n Hotel.
JEEP SAFARI TIMINGS:
Morning Safari starts from 07.00 am till 09.30 am for 02 hours.
Afternoon Safari starts from 01.30 pm till 03.30 pm for 02 hours.
ELEPHANT SAFARI TIMINGS:
Central Zone of the park at 05.30 am and at 06.30 am for 40 minutes respectively.

DAY 5, KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK-MAJULI (ABOUT 120 KMS/2-3 HRS. TO NIMATIGHAT): 

After an early breakfast drive approx 2-3 hrs to Nimati Ghat (near Jorhat) and then board on local ferry (country boat fitted with motor). Cruise for approx.1 ½ hrs to reach Majuli. Majuli is the largest fresh Water mid-river deltoid island in the world. It is situated in the upper reaches of the river Brahmaputra in Assam. This Island, with a population of 1.6 Lakhs, majority being tribal, is endowed with rich heritage and has been the abode of the neo-vaishnavite culture. The island is a bio-diversity hotspot and has rich ecology with rare species of flora and fauna. Majuli for the past five centuries has been the cultural capital of Assam. The main depositories of cultural and spiritual heritage are the Sattras, which are just like Gurukul (hermitages) of yore. Here up to 400 celibates’ stay for life preserving spiritual and cultural heritage, renouncing worldly desires. From the time of the great Vaishnavite renaissance of 14th and 15th century AD, under Srimanta Sankardeva, Srimanta Madhab Deva and other saints this island became the seat of Vaishnavite religion, art and culture. The famous Satriya Nritya (Dance) and Ankiya Bhaona (Traditional Drama) created by Sankardeva are now Internationally acclaimed and Nationally honoured. Majuli is equally famous for Tribal Folk Culture and Heritage. It is said to be the cradle of Missing and Deori cultures. Explore in and around Majuli. Afternoon visit Satras, Missing tribal village, Mask making village & Pottery village. Overnight at Majuli.

DAY 6, MAJULI-JORHAT (2 HRS BY FERRY BOAT TO NIMATI GHAT+20 KMS TO JORHAT CITY): 

Morning after breakfast transfer to Majuli Ghat for your return ferry to Nimatighat (Jorhat side). Arrive Nimatighat and straight transfer to your hotel/tea bungalow in Jorhat. Afternoon visit Jorhat Gymkhana Club (oldest Golf course in Asia and 3rd oldest in the world) & Tocklai Tea Research centre (oldest and only Tea research centre in the world). Evening free. O/n Hotel/Tea Bungalow.

DAY 7, JORHAT- DIBRU SAIKHOWA NATIONAL PARK (ABOUT 140 KMS/2 -3 HRS.): 

Morning after breakfast drive to Dibru – Saikhowa National Park (near Tinsukia). Arrive and transfer to your hotel/resort. Afternoon visit the park with naturalist.
Dibru-Saikhowa National Park, famous for feral & semi wild horses. These are the 3rd or 4th generation of Army trained escaped horses, those were escaped from the Army barracks during the 2nd World War.
Dibru-Saikhowa National Park is also famous for other wild life, like the white-winged wood duck, tiger, leopard, elephant, Asiatic buffalo etc and more than 250 varieties of birds.
Mammals : 36 species of mammals have so far been recorded – Tiger, Elephant, Leopard, Jungle Cat, Bears, Small Indian Civet, Squirrels, Gangetic Dolphin, Slow Loris, Assamese Macaque, Rhesus Macaque, Capped Langur, Hoolock Gibbon, Wild Pigs, Sambar, Barking Deer, Water Buffalo, Feral Horses etc.
Birds : It is an identified Important Bird Area (IBA) having more than 382 species of Birds.

DAY 8, DIBRU SAIKHAOWA: 

Today we start early morning in search of Feral Horse/Wild Horse on the other side of the park with packed lunch. We have to go inside the park by local made ferry boat. Evening back to your hotel/resort.

DAY 9, DIBRU SIAKHAOWA-DIBRUGARH AIRPORT (ABOUT 83 KMS/2 HRS.):

His spirit is still believed to protect the place). Overnight in Tawang.

DAY 4: TAWANG:

DAY 6 ALONG : 
Visit and witness the culture of the Adi tribe in various Adi villages. Also visit the Darka Village, one of the largest Adi (Gallong) tribal villages. Afternoon visit museum & emporium. Overnight in Along.

DAY 7 ALONG – PASSIGHAT (80 km / 2 hrs) : 
Morning drive to Passighat. In Passighat visit Museum, Cultural Centre & Mishmi tribal villages. Drive to Dr. Daying Ering Wildlife Sanctuary (20 km; safari / nature walk subject to availability & at additional expenses) famous for wild buffalo, tiger, sambar deer and wild duck & bounded by the Siang River.
