Bhutan – The Land Of Thunder Dragon

 

Bhutan is an independent country,  at north- eastern border of India . People of Bhutan  believe in Buddhism . Their National Dress, Language , Culture  all are distinctively different from other countries. They are peaceful  and  laborious .

 

Paro , Paro Museum , Kyichu Lhakhang , Chele La Pass(The highest motorable passes in Bhutan)  ,  Punakha Dzong , Pho Chhu , Mo Chhu River , Dochu-la , Thimpu City – Memorial Chorten , Lord Buddha Statue , Changangkha Lhakhng , Thimpu National Zoo , Trashichhoe Dzong  etc .

 

Day 1 Start Train for Hasimara . Night Stay in Train.

Day 2  Arrival at Hasimara.To Jaigaon(17 kms) . NightStay at Jaigaon.

Day 3 Start For Paro. (6 Hrs 165 Kms).Visit>Paro Museum, Kyichu Lhakhang . Night Stay at Paro.

Day 4 Visit Chele La Pass-The highest motorable passes in Bhutan (3988 Meters)  Night Stay at Paro.

Day 5 Start For Punakha(83Kms Journey) & VisitPunakha Dzong, Pho Chhu, Mo Chhu River, Dochu-la Pass  (10130 ft). Night Stay at Punakha .

Day 6 Start For Thimphu (4Hrs/111kms) Night Stay at Thimpu.

Day 7 Visit Thimpu City – Memorial Chorten, Lord Buddha Statue (169 feet), Changangkha Lhakhng,Thimpu National Zoo,Trashichhoedzong . Night Stay at Thimpu.

Day 8  Whole Day Rest . Night Stay at Thimpu.

Day 9 Start For Hasimara (6Hrs/185 kms) . For Kolkata . Night Stay in Train .

Day 10 Back Home-Home-Sweet Home At Kolkata.

 

A.D.T.P –

DAY-1: HASIMARA TO PHUNTSOLING / JAIGAON

Arrive at Hasimara station. On arrival you will be received by our Professional representative with a traditional welcome and proceed for Phuentsholing, through the lush green as well as most beautiful Tea garden in Duars. On arrival at Phuentsholing, The most rapidly growing town in Bhutan checks in into your respective hotel. Overnight stay in Phuentsholing / Jaigaon.

DAY-2: JOURNEY   TO THIMPU

 After making permits drive to Thimpu, The Capital Town of Bhutan.

On the way you may visit Kharbandi Ghumpha-a Buddhist Monastery. Here you get the finest view of Phuntsoling and Jaigaon township lies in the valley of Torsa River.

Take your lunch on the way. Enjoy the drive between the valleys. Check into Hotel.  Rest of days is free for own activity. Over Night in Thimphu.

DAY-3: FULL DAY THIMPHU TOUR

Your tour starts for Thimphu  Site Seen – Buddha Point: One of the biggest Buddha in the world. It was constructed through donations from devotees all around the world.

 

Folk Heritage Museum: It is one of the oldest traditional houses. This house has been around 150 years old. It once belonged to one of the affluent family. Government has converted the house into museum in 2001 in Thimphu providing visitors and tourists with fascinating insights into the Bhutanese material culture and way of life.

 

Tashichodzong: The beautiful medieval fortress/monastery which houses most of the government’s office and King’s Throne room. It is also the summer residence of Je khenpo, the Chief Abbot. The fortress is opened from 9am till 5pm during weekends and during weekdays it’s open after 5pm till 6pm.

BBS Tower : Known as a TV tower in town.You may get the finest view of Thimpu town and the valleys from here.

 

National Takin Zoo : The National Zoo maintained by the govt. You may find the National animal of Bhutan-Takin here.

National Memorial Chorten :  Construction of this landmark was the idea of Bhutan’s third king, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck (“the father of modern Bhutan”) who had wished to erect a monument to world peace and prosperity. Completed in 1974 after his untimely death, it serves both as a memorial to the Late King and as a monument to peace. Over Night stay in Thimphu.

DAY-4: THIMPU TO PARO

Drive to Paro -another serene beauty of Bhutan. Enjoy evening shopping in local market at own. Overnight in Paro.

 

DAY-5: PARO LOCAL SIGHTSEEING

Starts for “Taksang Monastery” – Tiger Nest, A historical site that a visitor to Bhutan should not miss.” The Tiger’s Nest” is perched precariously on a cliff. Guru Padma Sambhava was supposed to have flown to the Taktshang perched on the back of a tiger. It’s the Mecca for tantric Buddhism and the Great tantric master meditated in one of the caves. The temple is built by Gyalse tenzin Rabgye in the 17th century. Its takes about 6 hours both ways. Kichu Lakhang – One of the 108 temple constructed by Great Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo.Inside this temple there is a great golden image of Buddha Sakyamuni. Drukgyel Dzong: It was one of the four principal Dra Dzongs (defense fortress). Accounts differ on the founder of Drukgyal Dzong. It is said to have been caused by the fire when a butter lamp fell in the central tower. Only the ruins of giant walls, charred gigantic wooden posts, beams and watch towers can be seen of what was once an important fortress that repelled several invasions from the north Rin Pung Dzong : Rinpung Dzong is a large dzong – Buddhist monastery and fortress – of the Drukpa Lineage of the Kagyu school in Paro District, Bhutan. It houses the district Monastic Body and government administrative offices of Paro Dzongkhag. It is listed as a tentative site in Bhutan’s Tentative List for UNESCO inclusion. Over Night in Paro.

DAY-6: PARO NJP DROP

 Check out from Paro hotel and drop to Hasimara Station with sweet memories
